[Kazakhstan Government and Space Industry Delegation Visits APSI AIT Center in Bucheon]

A delegation of senior government officials and key space industry representatives from Kazakhstan visited APSI’s satellite manufacturing facility to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the space industry between Korea and Kazakhstan. During the visit, senior Kazakh government officials toured APSI’s satellite Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) facilities and expressed interest in potential collaboration with Korean space companies.

APSI announced on September 15 that a delegation of Kazakh government and space industry representatives, who were visiting Korea for the Central Asia–Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum and high-level exchanges, visited the APSI AIT Center in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, on September 14.

The delegation included Zhaslan Madiyev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan; Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev, Advisor to the President; Baubek Oral-Magambetov, Chairman of the Aerospace Committee; and Daniyar Zhomart, Head of the Digitalization Development Division of the Presidential Administration.

Representatives from Kazakhstan’s space industry also joined the visit, including Kairzhan Kozhayev, Chairman of Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary (KGS); Baurzhan Almatov, CEO of Ghalam LLP; and Adilsultan Lepes, Business Development Director.

At the APSI AIT Center in Bucheon, the delegation toured the satellite assembly, integration and test facilities as well as the company’s satellite manufacturing infrastructure. They reviewed the satellite development and manufacturing capabilities of APSI and CONTEC Space Group and exchanged views on potential cooperation between Korean and Kazakh space companies.

During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Zhaslan Madiyev encouraged APSI CEO Sunghee Lee to take an active role in fostering close cooperation between companies from both countries and turning such collaboration into tangible outcomes.

“Korea and Kazakhstan have significant potential to combine their respective strengths in the space industry,” said Sunghee Lee, CEO of APSI. “APSI and CONTEC Space Group will serve as a bridge connecting space companies in both countries.”

“Building on this visit, we will work to expand technological and business exchanges between Korean and Kazakh companies across various areas of the space industry, including satellite development and manufacturing, and create meaningful opportunities for practical cooperation,” he added.

APSI plans to further strengthen its satellite manufacturing and testing capabilities centered around the Bucheon AIT Center, while expanding its space industry cooperation network across Central Asia, including Kazakhstan. Through
