[Nine Organizations Selected for Payloads on Space Verification Satellite No. 3 for Nuri Rocket’s 6th Launch]

The payloads for Space Verification Satellite No. 3, which will be carried on the 6th launch of the Nuri rocket next year, have been selected.

Following the complete success of its 4th launch on November 4 last year, the Nuri rocket is scheduled for its 6th launch this year and its 7th launch next year.

The Korea AeroSpace Administration announced on the 9th the results of the payload selection for Space Verification Satellite No. 3, conducted through the Korea Aerospace Research Institute as part of the domestic component and parts space verification support project.

Out of 24 organizations that applied for the payload competition, nine were ultimately selected. A total of 15 types of components and parts developed by these organizations will have the opportunity to be tested in orbit.

The selected organizations are Hanbat National University, LG Electronics, CosmoB, SK hynix, Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Korea University, Daelim, AP Satellite, and Ilchem.

The components developed by these organizations will be launched aboard the Nuri rocket’s 6th mission, scheduled for 2027, where they will undergo space verification.

This is expected to serve as a key driving force in enhancing technological competitiveness, strengthening self-reliance, and accelerating domestic companies’ entry into the global space market.

Noh Kyung-won, Vice Administrator of the Korea AeroSpace Administration, stated, “Securing flight heritage for domestic space components is the foundation for entering the global market,” adding, “The Administration will continue to strengthen support for fostering the aerospace industry.”
